or the Tortoise Home can be torn away and this can

• Set up the cold frame in a place where it will be
sheltered from the wind.
• Close the lid and the swing door when there is a
strong wind or storm. Make sure they cannot be
opened again.
• The lid and swing door may only be opened and
xed in place when there is no wind.
ASSEMBLY
CAUTION!
Risk of damage!
The walls and the lid of the Tortoise Home are
breakable and can be damaged or destroyed if you do
not assemble the Tortoise Home with the necessary
care.
• Assemble the Tortoise Home carefully and on a
suitable base.
USE
NOTE!
Risk of damage!
Handling the Tortoise Home or your tortoises
incorrectly can cause damage to the tortoises.
• Open and x both windows in position during
strong sunlight, or remove completly. When needed
please provide some shade. Close the lid and
windows again when it becomes cooler (drop in
temperature to less than 10 °C).
• Use a source of heat, e.g. a heat lamp, when outside
temperatures are low or when there are several days
with only little sunlight.
• Due to the excellent insulation in the Tortoise
Home, when sunny and even on cloudy days, high
temperatures may develop in the Tortoise Home.
Therefore make sure for a timely ventilation with the
help of the two sliding windows.
• When inserting the ground anchors that are included
in the scope of supply into the ground, insert them as
diagonally as possible so that the Tortoise Home will
be anchored securely.Close the lid if there is a strong
wind or storm. Hook in the vent opener on the front
wall so that the lid cannot be opened again.
• Please pay attention to suitable creep protection.
Depending on the surface and the size of your
animals you should provide, in a depth of 10 cm
below ground level, a suitable creep protection.
For example galvanized ne wire mesh that you
pull up to the side of the walls and then ll up with
appropriate material like for example sand. You can
also install other materials, such as concrete blocks or
tiles, as creep protection
CLEANING
CAUTION!
Risk of damage!
Handling the tortoise home incorrectly can cause
damage.
• Do not use any aggressive detergents, brushes with
metal or nylon bristles or sharp, rough or metallic
cleaning objects such as knives, hard scrapers or
suchlike. These can damage the surfaces.
• Do not put the Tortoise Home components into the
dishwasher as this would destroy them.
• Use a garden hose or a watering can to wash down
the Tortoise Home.
• Use a soft cloth to remove dirt.
STORAGE
• Make sure that all Tortoise Home components are
completely dry.
• Keep the Tortoise Home in a dry place that is
sheltered from the wind.
• Store the Tortoise Home out of reach of children,
closed securely and at a storage temperature
between + 5° C and + 20° C (room temperature).
WASTE DISPOSAL
Disposal of packaging
Sort the packaging into material types before
disposing of it. Paperboard and cardboard
should be put into the wastepaper collection and
plastic sheeting into the recyclable collection system.
Disposing of the Tortoise Home
Dispose of the Tortoise Home in accordance with the
rules and regulations that apply in your country.
