Do you have a question about the JVC CA-MXS3BK and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

This document is a service manual for the JVC CA-MXS3BK, a compact disc player, tuner, and dual cassette deck system.

Function Description

The CA-MXS3BK is an audio system designed for playing compact discs, tuning into AM (MW/LW) and FM radio stations, and playing/recording audio cassette tapes. It integrates several key components:

  • CD Player: Features include one-touch play, programmed play (up to 32 tracks in any order), random play, and repeat functions for individual tracks or the entire disc. It also supports Auto Edit for recording CDs to tape, which arranges tracks to fit the tape sides without cutting off selections.
  • Tuner: Capable of receiving AM (MW/LW) and FM broadcasts. It offers one-touch radio play, manual tuning, and the ability to preset up to 40 AM and FM stations. It also includes an FM MODE/MUTE function to switch between stereo and mono reception for improved clarity in noisy conditions.
  • Dual Cassette Deck: Allows for playback, recording, and dubbing of audio tapes. Deck B is the recording deck. It supports both regular speed and high-speed dubbing. Features include Music Scan to find selections by detecting 4-second blanks, Fast Left and Fast Right winding, and Reverse Mode for automatic tape reversal at the end of a side.
  • Amplifier: Provides 25 watts per channel (min. RMS, into 6 ohms at 1 kHz with no more than 0.9% total harmonic distortion).
  • Microphone Input: Enables "Sing Along" with a vocal canceller system (VOCAL MASKING) to reduce lead vocals on songs, allowing users to sing along. It also supports mixing microphone input with other sound sources and regular microphone recording.
  • Auxiliary Input: Allows connection of external sound sources like VTRs or record players, enabling their audio to be played through the CA-MXS3BK's sound system and recorded to tape.
  • Timers: Includes WAKE UP TIMER, SLEEP TIMER, AUTO POWER OFF, and REC TIMER for automated operations such as waking up to music, turning off after a set time, automatic power off after CD/tape finishes, and unattended radio recording.
  • Sound Effects: Features pre-programmed sound effects like DANCE CLUB, HALL, STADIUM, and LIVE SURROUND to enhance the audio experience. ACTIVE BASS EX. maintains richness regardless of volume.
  • Remote Control: Provides remote operation for most functions, including track selection via a 10-key pad for CDs and preset radio stations.
