5.2 Regular Maintenance Record
In order to ensure that your wheelchair is in good condition, please contact Karma
authorized dealers regularly and make further wheelchair inspection and
maintenance records. We recommend that you inspect and maintain your
wheelchair every six months.
A maintenance/service fee may apply.
● Even if you don't use the vehicle for a long time, the wheelchair should still be
maintained regularly. You should clean your wheelchair regularly..
● ● Wheelchair rolls straight (no excessive drag or pull to
one side)
● ● Inspect frame structure for small cracks/fissures
● ● Inspect for bent frame or cross bars
● ● Do not interfere with tyres when rolling
● ● Pivot points free of wear and looseness
● ● Prevent wheelchair from moving when engaged
● ● Inspect for rips or sagging
● ● Inspect for loose or broken hardware
● ● Inspect the casters for smooth rotation of the caster
wheel and caster assembly
● ● Inspect the caster for wear in the bearings/mountings
and for tyre wear or damage
● ● Quick-release axles lock properly; lubricate if necessary
● ● No excessive side movement or binding when lifted and
