Secure antenna to car bumper mount using screws. Ensure rigidity to prevent tilting at high speed.
Mount on a sufficiently long handrail. Ensure bracket is earthed. Tilt 45° for concrete buildings.
Use earth rod or counterpoise for grounding. Adjust counterpoise length for performance.
Attach earth plate to boat bottom. Connect shield braid to earth plate with short lead.
Prepare equipment, connect, transmit, measure SWR at different frequencies, plot graph to find 'fo'.
Adjust element lengths by loosening screws or turning bases. Cut rods if 'fo' remains low.
