Overview

The KETELES K800 PRO is an all-terrain electric fat bike designed for versatile riding experiences, offering both pedal-assist and pure electric modes. This user manual provides comprehensive instructions for assembly, operation, and maintenance, ensuring a safe and enjoyable riding experience.

Function Description

The KETELES K800 PRO functions primarily as an electric bicycle, augmenting human pedaling with an electric motor. It features a robust design suitable for various terrains, including off-road and challenging conditions, thanks to its fat tires and suspension system. The bike is equipped with a smart display that allows riders to monitor and control various aspects of their ride.

The core functionality revolves around its multiple riding modes:

  • Pedal-Assist System (PAS): This mode provides electric assistance while the rider pedals. The K800 PRO offers 5 PAS grades, allowing riders to choose the level of assistance they need. Lower grades (PAS 1-2) offer slight power assist, making exercise easier, while higher grades (PAS 4-5) provide significant power, enabling faster cycling and labor saving. PAS 0 means no electric assistance, relying solely on human power for exercise.
  • Pure Electric Riding Mode: This mode allows the rider to propel the bike using only the throttle grip, without needing to pedal. The motor engages directly, providing power for effortless movement.
  • Cruise Control System: For sustained riding on good road conditions with minimal traffic, the bike features a cruise control function. This can be activated by turning the rotatable grip and long-pressing a button for 5 seconds. The display will show a "Cruise" sign when active. Applying the brake will cancel cruise control.

The bike's motor is integrated into the front wheel, providing power directly to the front axle. The battery, which powers the motor and display, is housed within the bike's frame, contributing to a sleek design and protected placement. The display serves as the central interface for controlling the bike's electric functions, showing speed, mileage (solo and total), and the selected speed grade.

Usage Features

The KETELES K800 PRO is designed with user convenience and safety in mind, incorporating several features to enhance the riding experience.

  • Smart Display: The bike is equipped with a multifunctional color LCD display. This display is crucial for operating the electric functions.
    • Power On/Off: A long press of the power button for 3 seconds turns the display on or off.
    • Mileage Check: A quick press of the power button allows riders to check solo or total mileage.
    • Speed Grade Adjustment: The + and - buttons are used to switch between the 5 speed grades (PAS 1-5). In "0 grade" mode, the motor does not engage when the throttle is turned, meaning human power is required.
    • Error Codes: The display also shows error codes (e.g., E001-E006, E021-E030) to indicate potential issues with the controller, communication, Hall sensor, throttle, brake lever, or motor phase. These codes help in diagnosing problems.
  • Throttle Grip: The throttle grip allows for direct control over the motor's power in pure electric mode. When combined with PAS, it works in conjunction with the selected speed grade.
  • USB Charging Port: The cell phone holder on the handlebar includes a USB charging port, allowing riders to charge their devices on the go, adding practicality for longer rides.
  • Adjustable Components: The bike features an adjustable stem and seat post, allowing riders to customize the fit for comfort and ergonomics. The handlebar height can be adjusted, and the seat post can be inserted into the seat tube and locked tightly with a lever.
  • Fenders and Rear Rack: The K800 PRO comes with fenders to protect against splashes and a rear rack for carrying cargo, enhancing its utility for commuting or touring.
  • Headlight: A headlight is included for improved visibility during low-light conditions, contributing to rider safety.
  • Assembly: The manual provides clear, step-by-step instructions for assembling the bike, including installing the handlebar, saddle, front wheel, pedals, headlight, fender, and rear rack. It emphasizes correct positioning of components like the fork brace and pedals (L for left, R for right).

Maintenance Features

Proper maintenance is crucial for the longevity and optimal performance of the KETELES K800 PRO. The manual highlights several key aspects of maintenance, particularly concerning the lithium battery and general care.

  • Battery Care:
    • Temperature Influence: Lithium batteries are sensitive to temperature. Extreme temperatures (above 40°C or below -10°C) can affect their discharge capacity. In winter, when temperatures are low (below 0°C), the battery's effective capacity may be reduced to 60-70%, shortening the driving range.
    • Charging in Winter: During cold weather, it is recommended to charge the battery indoors. After a full charge, the charging time should be extended by another two hours to ensure complete charging.
    • Charging in Summer: In hot weather, avoid exposing the battery to direct sunlight and do not charge it at high temperatures immediately after use. It's advisable to wait one or two hours after the red indicator turns green before continuing to charge.
  • Waterproofing and Cleaning:
    • The electric bicycle has good waterproof performance, allowing it to be ridden in rainy or snowy weather. However, when passing through water puddles, the wading height should not exceed the motor's level to prevent water inflow and damage.
    • Crucially, a high-pressure water gun should not be used to wash the electric bicycle, as this can force water into electronic parts and accessories, causing damage.
  • Braking Habits: Frequent braking leads to frequent start-ups, resulting in large current discharge and power cut-offs from the battery, which can impact its lifespan. Riders are advised to drive at a proper speed and try to avoid frequent braking to preserve battery life.
  • Warranty Information: The manual includes a warranty period for various parts (e.g., motor, controller, battery, frame, suspension fork, handlebar, throttle, axle, pedals, shifter, brake, crankset). It also lists conditions that are not covered by the warranty, such as water damage to electrical components, man-made damage, self-modification, collision damage, tire punctures, products beyond the warranty period, improper use, damage from natural disasters, lack of proof materials for accessories not returned, and damage from modifications. Consumable items like accessory coating, inner tubes, chains, and pedals are also not covered for normal wear and tear.
  • Troubleshooting Error Codes: The manual provides a guide to understanding display error codes, explaining possible reasons for communication errors, Hall sensor failure, throttle failure, motor phase position loss, brake failure, controller failure, and abnormal current. This information helps users or technicians diagnose and address issues efficiently.

By following these guidelines, KETELES K800 PRO owners can ensure their electric fat bike remains in excellent condition, providing reliable performance for all their adventures.
