Assembly Replacement Procedures

Additional Tasks
1. Make sure the instrument is turned off.
2. Turn on the instrument.
3. After the “Agilent Technologies” screen is displayed the following screen
contents will be displayed for 3 seconds.
Please select the operating system to start:
Microsoft Windows XP Professional
Agilent Recovery System
Use the up and down arrow keys to move the highlight to your choice.
Press
Enter to choose.
4. Press the down arrow key to move the highlight to “Agilent Recovery System”,
press the
Enter key.
5. When the Agilent Recovery System has booted, follow the on-screen
instructions to recover the image of the C drive.
a. Press
2, then press Enter to select the recovery.
b. Press
1, then press Enter to continue.
c. Press
1, then Enter to confirm. It may take up to 25 minutes for this process
to complete.
6. After exiting the Agilent Recovery System, you will be prompted to press any
key to continue. The instrument will reboot if the recovery process was
successful.
CAUTION When the instrument reboots it will display a warning about accepting the
Microsoft User license agreement (ULA). When this warning screen is displayed,
turn the instrument off without excepting the agreement.
7. After the instrument reboots, you will see the following screen. Do not accept
the Microsoft User License agreement (ULA). Turn off the instrument to
complete the installation.
