Driver Attention Warning (DAW)
The Driver Attention Warning sys

tem utilizes the camera sensor on
the front windshield for its opera

tion.
To keep the camera sensor in the
best condition
, you should observe
the followings:
䳜 Do not disassemble camera tem
-
porarily for tinted window or
attaching any types of coatings
and accessories. If you disassem
-
ble a camera and assemble it
again, take your vehicle to an
authorized Kia dealer and have
the system checked.
䳜 D
o not place any reflective objects
(i.e. white
paper, mirror) over the
dashboard. Any light reflection
may prevent the Driver Attention
Warning (DAW) system from
functioning properly.
䳜 P
ay extreme caution to keep the
ca
mera sensor dry.
䳜 Do not arbitrarily disassemble the
c
amera assembly, or apply any
impact on the camera assembly.
* Playing the vehicle audio system at
high volume may prevent occu

pants from hearing the Driver
Attention Warning system warn
-
ing sounds.
The Driver Attention Warning sys
-
tem may not provide alerts in the
following situations:
䳜 The lane detection performance is

䳜 The vehicle is erratically driven or
is a
bruptly turned for obstacle
avoidance (e.g. construction area,
other vehicles, fallen objects,
bumpy road).

orward drivability of the vehicle

s severely undermined (possibly
due to wide variation in tire pres

sures, uneven tire wear-out, toe-
in/toe-out alignment).
䳜 The vehicle drives on a curvy road.
䳜 The vehicle drives on a bumpy
