Lane Following Assist (LFA)
In this case, have the system
checked by an authorized Kia dealer.
䳜 It is the driver's responsibility to
operate the steering wheel while
driving.
䳜 With the LFA system on, The
driver can steer the vehicle by
operating the wheel on his own.
䳜 W
e recommend that the driver
turn off
the LFA system and
operate the steering wheel by
himself in the following situations:
- bad weather
- bad road conditions
- when frequent operation of the
s
t
eering wheel is required
- When towing other vehicle or
traile
rs
䳜 The steering wheel can feel heavy
or light if the LF
A system is
assisting the steering.
Limitations of the LFA
The LFA has the following limita

tions, so always pay attention to
your driving and do not rely solely
on the LFA.
䳜 If the drive

nal light or the emergency warn

ing light to change the lane
- Operate the turn signal light
sw
itch before changing the lane
- If you change the lane without
operati
ng the turn signal lights,
steering reaction force of the
wheel may occur.
䳜 Once the LFA system is turned on
or
the lane is changed, the vehicle
should be in the center of the
road to switch to the steering
assist mode. If the driver keeps
driving along the lane, the LFA
system will not assist the steer
-
ing.
䳜 When the ESC or is activated, the
system
does not assist steering.
䳜 When driving on a curved road at
a
high speed, steering assist
mode may not work.
䳜 When driving at a speed faster
than 110 mph (180 km/h), steer
-
ing assist mode may not work.
䳜 When sudden steering is made,
the
system could be temporarily
deactivated.
䳜 If you change the lane in a hurry,
the
system does not assist the
steering.
䳜 If the vehicle suddenly stops, it
doe
s not assist the steering.
䳜 If the lane is too narrow or too
wide, steering is not assis
ted.
䳜 If either of the lanes is not recog

Cautions for the driver
If the lane recognition is difficult or
limited for the LFA system as shown
below, the driver may need to be
careful because the system may not
operate or may cause unnecessary
operation.
