Door locks
1. Press the front part of the door handle
to pull out the rear part of the door
handle.
2. Press the hook from the inner part of
door handle by using a mechanical
key.
3. Pull out the cover from the door han
-
dle to gain access to the keyhole.
4. Turn the key.
僅 Locking: Clockwise
僅 Unlocking: Counter-clockwise
NOTICE
僅 When locking the door with a
mechanical key, be aware that only
the driver's door can be locked/
unlocked.
僅 To lock all doors, operate the central
lock switch inside the vehicle. Open
the car door using the inner handle,
then close the door and lock the
driver's door with a mechanical key.
僅 Refer to "Operating door locks inside
the vehicle" on page 5-17 to lock from
inside the vehicle.
NOTICE
僅 Be careful not to lose or scratch the
cover when removing it.
僅 When the key cover freezes and does
not open, tap it lightly or warm it up
with your hand.
NOTICE
僅 In cold and wet climates, door locks
and door mechanisms may not work
properly due to freezing conditions.
僅 If the door is locked/unlocked multiple
times in rapid succession with either
the vehicle key or door lock switch,
the system may stop operating tem
-
porarily in order to protect the circuit
and prevent damage to system com
-
ponents.
WARNING
僅 Securely close your door before you
begin driving. Failure to fully close
your door may cause it to be opened
during vehicle operation.
僅 Keep your body out of the way of the
closing door to prevent injuries.
CAUTION
僅 Do not unnecessarily open and close
the door repeatedly or with excessive
force. Such action can damage the
vehicle door.
僅 If the door is closed with strong force
or the outside door handle is pulled at
high speed, the safety device inside
the outside door handle is activated
and the door may not be opened even
if the door handle is pulled.
At this time, if you pull the outside
door handle once more, you can open
the door.
僅 If Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist
(FCA) is activated, the outside door
handle may pop out to rescue occu
-
pants after a collision. Then, when
Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist
(FCA) is released, the outside door
handle automatically return to their
original positions.
僅 If you lock the door with the central
door lock button, all vehicle doors will
lock automatically.
NOTICE
Always remove the ignition key, engage
the parking brake, close all windows,
