The horn will operate only when this
area is pressed. Check the horn regularly
to be sure it operates properly.

Steering Wheel Grip Sensor
While driving the vehicle with the Driver
Assistance system on, it detects whether
the driver is holding the steering wheel
and displays the Hands-off warning
when the driver is not holding the steer

ing wheel.

The steering wheel sensor may not work
properly if the following precautions are
not followed.
僅 Do not modify the steering wheel
cover.
僅 Do not attach accessories on the rim
of the steering wheel.
僅 Do not let the steering wheel come in
contact with electronic devices (for
example, laptops, tablets, etc.).
僅 Do not let the steering wheel come in
contact with metallic or conductive
objects (for example, tumblers, bever
-
age cans, etc.).
僅 Avoid excessive contact with moisture
(for example, wet tissues, spilled
water, vapor from steam wash, etc.).
When the driver is wearing gloves or
accessories such as a cover, steering
wheel knobs, any other attachments are
attached to the steering wheel, the sen
-
sor may fail to detect the driver’s hands
even when the driver is holding the
steering wheel.
