Driver assistance guide Safe Exit Assist (SEA)
Safe Exit Assist (SEA)
While your vehicle is stopped, and if Safe
Exit Warning detects a vehicle
approaching the rear corner of your
vehicle and a passenger opens a door,
Safe Exit Warning may warn you with a
warning message and a warning sound
to help avoid a collision.
When the electronic child safety lock
button is in the LOCK position and an
approaching vehicle from the rear area
is detected, the electronic child safety
lock ( ) button will not unlock even if
the driver presses the button to prevent
the rear doors from opening.
Warning timing may vary depending on
the speed of the approaching vehicle.

deselected, Safe Exit Assist cannot assist
you.
When the trailer is connected, Safe Exit
Assist automatically turns off (if
equipped). In this case, you cannot get
help from Safe Exit Assist. Always drive
with care.
If the vehicle is restarted, Safe Exit Assist
will maintain the last setting.
