Precautions
WARNING
• Even in vehicles with air bags, you and your passengers must always wear the safe
ty belts provided in order to minimise the risk and severity of injury in the event of a
collision or in most rollover situations.
• Keep the SRS parts and wirings away from water or any liquid. If the SRS compo
nents are inoperative due to exposure to water or liquids, it may cause fire or severe
injury.
• To avoid severe personal injury or death caused by deploying air bags in a collision,
the driver should sit as far back from the steering wheel air bag. The front passen
ger should always move their seat as far back as possible and sit back in their seat.
Air bag inflates instantly in an event of a collision, passengers may be injured by the
air bag expansion force if they are not in a proper position.
• Air bag inflation may cause injuries including facial or bodily abrasions, injuries from
broken glasses or burns.
• When the air bags deploy, the air bag related parts in the steering wheel and/or in
strument cluster and/or in both sides of the roof rails above the front and rear doors
are very hot. To prevent injury, do not touch the air bag storage areas internal com
ponents immediately after an air bag has inflated.
• Front and side air bags can injure occupants improperly positioned in the front
seats.
• There may be a danger that the driver's and/or front passenger's and/or side and
curtain air bag may fail to trigger, or not trigger correctly during a collision.
• Never install a rearward facing child seat on the front passenger's seat unless the
passenger's front air bag has been deactivated. The infant or child could be severely
injured or killed by an air bag deployment in case of an accident.
• Never place or insert any object into any small opening near side airbag labels at
tached to the vehicle seats. When the air bag deploys, the object may affect the de
ployment and result in unexpected accident or bodily harm.
• No objects (such as instrument panel cover, cellular phone holder, cup holder, per
fume or stickers) should be placed over or near the air bag modules on the steer
ing wheel, instrument cluster, windscreen glass, and the front passenger's panel
above the glove box. Such objects could cause harm if the vehicle is in a crash se
vere enough to cause the air bags to deploy. Do not place any objects over the air
bag or between the air bag and yourself.
• Do not install or place any accessories (drink holder, CD holder, sticker, etc.) on the
front passenger's panel above the glove box in a vehicle with a passenger's air bag.
Such objects may become dangerous projectiles and cause injury if the passenger's
air bag inflates.
