High Beam Assist malfunction
When High Beam Assist is not working
properly, the 'Check HBA (High Beam
Assist) system' warning message will
appear and 「 」 warning light will
appear on the cluster. In this case, have
the function inspected by a professional
workshop. Kia recommends to visit an
authorised Kia dealer/service partner.
Limitations of High Beam Assist
High Beam Assist may not work properly
in the following situations:
僅 Light from a vehicle is not detected
because of lamp damage, or because
it is hidden from sight, etc.
僅 Headlamp of a vehicle is covered with
dust, snow or water.
僅 A vehicle's headlamps are off but the
fog lamps are on and etc.
僅 There is a lamp that has a similar
shape as a vehicle's lamp.
僅 Headlamps have been damaged or
not repaired properly.
僅 Headlamps are not aimed properly.
僅 Driving on a narrow curved road,
rough road, uphill or downhill.
僅 Vehicle in front is partially visible on a
crossroad or curved road.
僅 There is a traffic light, reflecting sign,
flashing sign or mirror ahead.
僅 There is a temporary reflector or flash
ahead (construction area).
僅 The road conditions are bad such as
being wet, iced or covered with snow.
僅 A vehicle suddenly appears from a
curve.
僅 The vehicle is tilted from a flat tyre or
is being towed.
僅 Light from a vehicle is not detected
because of exhaust fume, smoke, fog,
snow, etc.
