Maintenance Scheduled maintenance service
Normal Maintenance Schedule - For Australia and New Zealand
The following maintenance services must be performed to ensure good emission
control and performance. Keep receipts for all vehicle emission services to protect
your warranty. Where both mileage and time are shown, the frequency of service is
determined by whichever occurs first.

Engine oil and
engine oil filter
僅 As it is normal for engine oil to be consumed during
driving, the engine oil level should be checked on regu

lar basis.
僅 The engine oil change interval for normal operating con

ditions is based on the use of the recommended engine
specification. If the recommended engine oil specifica
-
tion is not used, then replace the engine oil according to
the maintenance schedule under severe operating con
-
ditions.
*2 Coolant (Engine)
When adding coolant, use only deionized water or soft
water for your vehicle and never mix hard water in the
coolant filled at the factory. An improper coolant mixture
can result in serious malfunction or engine damage.
*3 Drive belts (Engine)
僅 Adjust alternator, water pump and air conditioner drive
belt. Inspect and if necessary repair or replace.
僅 Inspect drive belt tensioner, idler and alternator pulley
and if necessary correct or replace.
*4 Spark plug
For your convenience, it can be replaced prior to it's inter

val when you do maintenance of other items.

Fuel additives (Pet
-
rol)
Kia recommends that you use unleaded petrol which has
an octane rating of RON (Research Octane Number) 95 /
AKI (Anti Knock Index) 91 or higher (for Europe) or Octane
Rating of RON (Research Octane Number) 91 / AKI (Anti-
Knock Index) 87 or higher (except Europe).
For customers who do not use good quality petrols includ
-
ing fuel additives regularly, and have problems starting or
the engine does not run smoothly, one bottle of additives
added to the fuel tank when the engine oil is replaced.
Additives are available from a professional workshop along
with information on how to use them. Kia recommends to
visit an authorised Kia dealer/service partner. Do not mix
other additives.
