Air bag - supplemental restraint system
Passenger’s front air bag OFF
indicator (if equipped)
The passenger’s front air bag OFF
indicator illuminates for about 4
seconds after the ignition switch
is turned to the ON position.
The passenger’s front air bag OFF indi -
cator also comes on when the passen -
ger’s front air bag ON/OFF switch is set
to the OFF position and goes off when
the passenger’s front air bag ON/OFF
switch is set to the ON position.
CAUTION
If the passenger’s front air bag ON/OFF
switch malfunctions, the passenger’s
front air bag OFF indicator will not illumi -
nate (The passenger's front air bag ON
indicator will illuminate.) and the passen -
ger’s front air bag will inflate in a frontal
impact even if the passenger’s front air
bag ON/OFF switch is set to the OFF
position.
In this case, have the passenger's front
air bag ON/OFF switch and the SRS air
bag system inspected by a professional
workshop.
Kia recommends to visit an authorised
Kia dealer/service partner.

3. Retractor pre-tensioner assemblies
4. Curtain air bag modules*
5. Side air bag modules*
6. Air bag warning light
7. SRS control module (SRSCM)/ rollover
sensor*
8. Front impact sensor
9. Side impact sensors*
10.Passenger's front air bag ON/OFF
switch*
11.Passenger's front air bag ON/OFF
indicator*
12.Side pressure sensors*
13.Rear retractor pre-tensioner assem

The SRSCM continually monitors all ele -
ments whilst the ignition switch is ON to
determine if a frontal, near-frontal
impact or side impact is severe enough
to require air bag deployment or pre-
tensioner seat belt deployment.
