• Becautiouswhenparkingona
hill.Firmlyengagetheparking
brakeandplacetheshiftlever
infirstorreversegear(manual
transmission).Ifyourvehicleis
facingdownhill,turnthefront
wheelsintothecurbtohelpkeep
thevehiclefromrolling.Ifyour
vehicleisfacinguphill,turnthe
frontwheelsawayfromthecurb
tohelpkeepthevehiclefrom
rolling.Ifthereisnocurborifit
isrequiredbyotherconditionsto
keepthevehiclefromrolling,block
thewheels.
• Undersomeconditionsyour
parkingbrakecanfreezeinthe
engagedposition.Thisismost
likelytohappenwhenthereis
anaccumulationofsnoworice
aroundorneartherearbrakesor
ifthebrakesarewet.Ifthereisa
riskthattheparkingbrakemay
freeze,applyitonlytemporarily
whileyouputtheshiftleverin
firstorreversegear(manual
transmission)andblocktherear
wheelssothevehiclecannotroll.
Thenreleasetheparkingbrake.
• Donotholdthevehicleonthe
upgradewiththeaccelerator
pedal.Thiscancausethe
transmissiontooverheat.Always
usethebrakepedalorparking
brake.
