ThedrivercanactivatetheFCAby
placingtheignitionswitchtotheON
positionandbyselecting:
“UserSettings→Driverassistance→
Forwardsafety”
• Ifyouselect“Activeassist”,the
FCAsystemactivates.TheFCA
produceswarningmessagesand
warningalarmsinaccordancewith
thecollisionrisklevels.Also,it
controlsthebrakesinaccordance
withthecollisionrisklevels.
• Ifyouselect“Warningonly”,
theFCAsystemactivatesand
producesonlywarningalarms
inaccordancewiththecollision
risklevels.Youshouldcontrolthe
brakedirectlybecausetheFCA
systemdonotcontrolthebrake.
• Ifyouselect“Off”,theFCAsystem
deactivates.
Thewarninglight
illuminatesontheLCD
display,whenyoucancel
theFCAsystem.Thedrivercan
monitortheFCAON/OFFstatuson
theLCDdisplay.Also,thewarning
lightilluminateswhentheESC
(ElectronicStabilityControl)is
turnedoff.Whenthewarninglight
remainsONwiththeFCAactivated,
havethesystemcheckedbya
professionalworkshop.

Thedrivercanselecttheinitial
warningactivationtimeontheLCD
display.
Gotothe“UserSettings→Driver
assistance→Warningtiming→
Normal/Later”.
TheoptionsfortheinitialForward
CollisionWarningincludesthe
following:
• Normal:
Whenthisconditionisselected,
theinitialForwardCollision
Warningisactivatednormally.
Thissettingallowsforanominal
amountofdistancebetweenthe
vehicleaheadbeforetheinitial
warningoccurs.
• Later:
Whenthisconditionisselected,
theinitialForwardCollision
Warningisactivatedlaterthan
normal.Thissettingreducesthe
amountofdistancebetweenthe
vehicleaheadbeforetheinitial
warningoccurs.
Select‘Later’whentrafficislight
andwhendrivingspeedisslow.If
thevehicleinfrontputsonaburst
ofspeed,thedrivercannotice
thewarningalarmisearlyeven
thoughthelateroptionisselected.
