If the engine stalls at a crossroad
or crossing
• Iftheenginestallsatacrossroad
orcrossing,settheshiftleverin
theN(Neutral)positionandthen
pushthevehicletoasafeplace.
• Ifyourvehiclehasamanual
transmissionnotequippedwitha
ignitionlockswitch,thevehiclecan
moveforwardbyshiftingtothe
2(second)or3(third)gearand
thenturningthestarterwithout
depressingtheclutchpedal.
If you have a flat tire while driving
Ifatiregoesflatwhileyouare
driving:
1.Takeyourfootofftheaccelerator
pedalandletthevehicleslow
downwhiledrivingstraight
ahead.Donotapplythebrakes
immediatelyorattempttopulloff
theroadasthismaycausealoss
ofcontrol.Whenthevehiclehas
sloweddowntosuchaspeedthat
itissafetodoso,brakecarefully
andpullofftheroad.Driveoffthe
roadasfaraspossibleandparkon
afirmlevelground.Ifyouareon
adividedhighway,donotparkin
themedianareabetweenthetwo
trafficlanes.
2.Whenthevehicleisstopped,
turnonyouremergencyhazard
flashers,settheparkingbrakeand
putthetransmissioninreverse
(manualtransmission).
3.Haveallpassengersgetoutofthe
vehicle.Besuretheyallgetout
onthesideofthevehiclethatis
awayfromtraffic.
4.Whenchangingaflattire,follow
theinstructionprovidedlaterin
thissection.
If engine stalls while driving
1.Reduceyourspeedgradually,
keepingastraightline.Move
cautiouslyofftheroadtoasafe
place.
2.Turnonyouremergencyflashers.
3.Trytostarttheengineagain.
