How to check
Useagoodqualitygaugetocheck
tirepressure.Youcannottellifyour
tiresareproperlyinflatedsimplyby
lookingatthem.Radialtiresmay
lookproperlyinflatedevenwhen
they’reunderinflated.
• Checkthetire’sinflationpressure
whenthetiresarecold.-“Cold”
meansyourvehiclehasbeen
sittingforatleastthreehours
ordrivennomorethan1.6km(1
mile).
• Removethevalvecapfromthe
tirevalvestem.Pressthetire
gaugefirmlyontothevalveto
getapressuremeasurement.If
thecoldtireinflationpressure
matchestherecommended
pressureonthetireandloading
informationlabel,nofurther
adjustmentisnecessary.Ifthe
pressureislow,addairuntilyou
reachtherecommendedamount.
Ifyouoverfillthetire,releaseair
bypushingonthemetalstemin
thecenterofthetirevalve.
Recheckthetirepressurewith
thetiregauge.Besuretoput
thevalvecapsbackonthevalve
stems.Theyhelppreventleaksby
keepingoutdirtandmoisture.
