Preparing the toilet for use
1. Add compost material to the
base of the unit (see notes on
following pages).
2. Connect air vent pipe & 12V
power cable to toilet.Connect
air vent pipe to outlet.
3. Connect 12V power cable
to power outlet (switch ON
power).
1. Seated usage is recommended.
In the event that the unit is
used in a standing position, the
trapdoor must remain closed
in order to prevent mingling of
liquid and solid wastes.
2. Toilet paper is typically placed
in the toilet. Since paper
products do not decompose as
quickly as solid wastes, they
will be visible long after the
solid matter has broken down.
Eco friendly single ply brands
will compost the quickest.
3. When using the toilet you
MUST separate solid from
liquid wastes - trapdoor needs
to be closed for liquid waste.
4. For solid waste - open trapdoor
with the handle on the left side
of the toilet. Return trapdoor to
closed position when nished
toileting.
5. Turn the agitator handle on
side after solid waste addition:
2-3 revolutions slowly in order
to mix the waste into the
compost and promote the
composting process.
6. Most users keep a small spray
bottle (included) lled with a
mixture of water and 2 oz of
white vinegar nearby to spray
off the bowl in the event that
some solid waste adheres to
the bowl. Spritzing of the bowl
also assists in cleansing the
urine passages.
