Operational issues:
De-rating Charging Current because of high temperature:
When the charger senses the environmental temperature is above 50°C/122°F, the maximum charger current
will de-rate to 1/2 of the value (A02 warning code will display). The charger will recover automatically back to
maximum charging current when the environmental temperature drops to below 45°C/113°F
Over Temperature Shutdown:
When the charger senses the environmental temperature is above 60°C/140°F, the charger will shutdown. It
will recover automatically when the environmental temperature drops to below 45°C/113°F
Battery Reverse Polarity:
When a reverse polarity is connected to the battery bank, Fault Code E03 on display will appear. In some cases,
the user replaceable DC fuse located near the DC Output terminals may blow and Error code E08 will display.
AC Input Voltage Protection from Generators and poorly powered sites:
The charger will shutdown when it senses the AC input voltage is outside of the operating range. A fault code
will display ‘E02’. The charger will recover automatically when it senses the AC input voltage has returned back
to the normal operation range.
Charging A Dead Lithium Battery
The charger must be switched to PROGRAM (Power Supply) mode in order to charge. Set the charge current
to the lowest setting of 5A to help prevent any possible overheating of the battery during charging. Re-
charging a dead  at battery requires extreme care and attention. Always be in attendance when battery is on
recovery charge. Once the battery voltage rises to above 11V, then the charger can be set on a higher current
value. Move up one setting for one hour approx., then move to the maximum current setting if the battery
voltage has risen.
The impact of a deep discharge is a shorter battery life in cycles. However, if you camp and use your battery
for 100 nights a year (100 cycles) then it would take 25 years to reach the nominal 2500 cycle life.
The other factor governing the success of recharging is the time delay between the major discharge and
recharging. Battery damage or failure may occur if the battery is discharged so deeply and the recharge time is
greater than 24 hours.
