failures.
These

The

picture

clean
and
in
good
order.
To
produce
the
effect
shown
in
the
picture
at
bot-
tom,
the

lightly
touched
the
face
of
the
lens
with
his
thumb,
which

slightly
damp
with
perspiration.
Lenses
should
be
frequently
examined
by
look-
ing
through
them,
and
if
found
to
be
dirty,
should
be
wiped,
both
front
and
back,
with
a
clean,
soft
linen
handkerchief

is
well
also
to
oc-
casionally
wipe
out
the
inside
of
cam-
era
with
a
slightly
damp
cloth.
In
summer
weather
this
needs
special
attent
i
on.

while
if
the
lens
is
evenly
covered
with
a film of
dust,
dirt
or
mois-
ture,

effect

light
