Remove 8 screws from the red plastic securing the reader head.
Position and roughly align the linear scale to the center of the machine table.
Align scale to table base and mark slot position using a scriber.
Drill and tap holes at the center of the marked slot for scale attachment.
Secure the scale to the table base using cap screws, ensuring alignment.
At the opposite end, use a scriber to mark the slot position.
Move scale away and drill/tap holes at the second marked slot.
Loosely mount scale with cap screws, aligning to table base.
Position the X axis table to its mechanical or electrical stop.
Check misalignment, adjust height, and tighten screws (error < 0.020mm).
Measure scale height using Vernier caliper and lock it.
Use locked Vernier caliper to align scale parallel to machine slide.
Insert shim to correct scale flatness and recheck dial gauge.
Use dial gauge to verify scale parallelism.
Adjust scale to minimize parallelism error (< 0.020mm).
Determine optimal location for DRO arm and mark mounting holes.
Drill and tap the two marked holes for mounting the DRO arm.
Mount the DRO base and tighten its four securing screws.
Mount DRO unit with collet holder plate and tighten bottom nut.
Connect power cable, scale connectors, and earth cable to the DRO unit.
Connect black (0V) and white (220V) cables; connect green to earth/ground.
Turn on machine and DRO, verifying operation and scale readings.
