Overview

This document outlines the assembly, usage, and maintenance instructions for a mobile scaffold system.

Function Description

The device is an assembly scaffold, designed to provide a stable and secure elevated working platform for various tasks. It allows for a maximum working height of approximately 4.00 meters and a platform height of 1.95 meters. The scaffold is designed for easy assembly and disassembly, making it suitable for temporary work at height. It can be configured to provide a single working platform and includes components for stability and safety. The system is intended for professional use and requires adherence to safety guidelines during assembly, use, and maintenance.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Maximum Working Height: Approximately 4.00 meters
  • Platform Height: Approximately 1.95 meters
  • Maximum Load Capacity: 135 kg (as indicated on the diagram)

    • 2x (Art.-No. 3003061) - Vertical frame (upper section)
    • 1x (Art.-No. 3003082) - Platform
  • Assembly Tools (Not included): 10 mm wrench (2x)
  • Certification: TÜV SÜD certified (tuv-sud.com/ps-cert, Production), with a type-tested mark from the Swedish Work Environment Authority (AFS 2013:4, RI.SE C900209).
  • Warranty: 2 years, voided if instructions are not followed, repairs are not carried out by qualified personnel using original spare parts, or if the production year on the product label is illegible.

Usage Features

The scaffold is designed for safe and efficient work at height. Key usage features include:

  • Assembly: The manual provides a step-by-step visual guide for assembly, starting with the base frames, adding horizontal and diagonal braces, installing the platform, and then extending the height with upper frames. Locking pins are used to secure connections.
  • Stability: The system includes stabilizer bars (Art.-No. 3003083) to enhance stability, particularly when the scaffold is extended to its maximum height.
  • Platform: A single platform (Art.-No. 3003082) provides the working surface.
  • Safety Guidelines:
    • Only qualified individuals in good health, not under the influence of alcohol or drugs, should assemble or use the scaffold.
    • National regulations for scaffolds and ladders must be followed.
    • Appropriate footwear must be worn.
    • Children are prohibited from being near the scaffold.
    • Ladder rungs must be clean before use.
    • No work should be performed on the scaffold in bad weather.
    • Heavy loads must not be placed on or transported via the scaffold.
    • The scaffold must not be used near live electrical installations or lines.
    • Ladders (without a platform) should only be used for light, short-term tasks and not as a primary working platform.
    • Ladders should not be subjected to lateral loads (e.g., for drilling in concrete or masonry walls).
    • When transitioning from an inclined ladder, the ladder must extend at least 1 meter above the stepping surface.
    • Always descend ladders facing the rungs.
    • Windows and doors near the scaffold must be secured.
    • Work on the scaffold must only be performed within the confines of the guardrails.
    • Vertical frames and platforms have permanent markings (embossed KRAUSE logo and manufacturing date in YY-MM format).
  • Prohibited Uses (as illustrated):
    • Using the scaffold on uneven or unstable ground.
    • Standing on the top rung or outside the designated platform area.
    • Climbing the scaffold from the outside or using it as a standalone ladder without proper support.
    • Leaning too far off the scaffold.
    • Using the scaffold as a single ladder.
    • Using the scaffold on an incline.

Maintenance Features

Proper maintenance is crucial for the longevity and safety of the scaffold.

  • Pre-Assembly Check: Before each assembly, all parts must be inspected for damage. Damaged parts must be replaced with original spare parts only.
  • Visual Inspection:
    • Welding seams and other materials must be checked for cracks.
    • Scaffold components must not be deformed or crushed.
    • Components such as hinges, hatches, and locking mechanisms must function perfectly.
  • Handling: Parts should not be thrown to prevent damage.
  • Storage:
    • Scaffold components must be stored in a way that prevents damage.
    • Individual parts should be stored horizontally and protected from weather.
  • Transport: Components must be secured during transport to prevent damage from slipping, bumping, or falling.
  • Cleaning: Scaffold components can be cleaned with water and a standard cleaning agent. Paint stains can be removed with turpentine.
  • Post-Work Procedure: After completing work, the scaffold must be secured against unauthorized use or disassembled.
  • Disclaimer: The manufacturer (KRAUSE-Werk GmbH & Co. KG) assumes no liability for improper handling or use.
  • Exclusions: Accessories, assembly aids, and other non-essential items are not included in the scope of delivery.
