3.5 Pick up
3.5.1 Special safety instructions
The following applies during all maintenance, assembly, repair and adjustment work:
• Shut down the short-cut feeder wagon.
• Shut down the engine, remove the ignition key and switch off the electrical supply at the
control box.
• Secure the tractor and short-cut feeder wagon against rolling away.
• When working on the pick-up, remember that there is the risk of crushing.
• Secure the pick up against dropping unintentionally.

Adjust so that the spikes do not stick into the ground
during loading. Always adjust the height of the pick-up to
be as high as possible.
Adjustment
• Pull the hand lever (1) out of the ratchet segment (2).
• Moving the hand lever (1) forwards raises the pick-up
or
• Moving the hand lever (1) backwards lowers the pick-
up.
• Push the hand lever (1) fully into the ratchet segment
(2).
If necessary, use the additional hole (5).
3.6 Baffle plate
Adjust the height of the baffle plate to the situation and
conditions of the crop.
Normal position:
In principle, suspend the baffle plate (1) at the top using
the chain (2). Very short load material requires a lower
setting.
For boggy ground, the pick-up can also be fitted with
additional wheels behind to give a wider track width than
the wheels of the tractor. On flat surfaces with the pick-up
lowered, the height of the rear roller feelers should be
adjusted so that they are at the same height as or are
somewhat higher than the side roller feelers so that most
of the pressure is applied to the side roller feelers. The
roller feelers are adjusted via the holed metal straps (3)
left and right. The height of the pick-up is adjusted
centrally via the adjustment lever (1).
3.5.2 Normal position (adjusting the working height)
3.5.4 Pick-up roller feelers rear (on special
request)
The drive-chain sprocket with the overload safety device
and appropriate shear-bolts is located behind the chain
guard (4).
