5 Basic Settings and Operation
5.1 Special Safety Instructions
5.2 Pick-up
The following general rules apply to all maintenance, assembly, repair and adjustment work:
• Bring the round baler to a complete standstill.
• Switch off the motor, remove the ignition key and disconnect the 12 V supply voltage.
• Secure the tractor and round baler against rolling.
• Risk of pinching when making adjustments to the pick-up. Secure the pick-up against
unintentional lowering (e.g. by using a depth limiter).
Adjust the pick-up working height to correspond to the
prevailing ground conditions.
The pick-up can be adjusted only after the baler has been
set to the correct height (see A 1.2).
Basic Setting:
The distance between the tines and the ground should be
approximately 20 – 30 mm.
Do not set the Pick-up lower than
necessary.
• Raise the pick-up (3) hydraulically.
• Remove the linch pin (1).
• Set the perforated rail (2) in the required position.
• Secure in place using the linch pin (1).
• Always adjust both sides.

5.2.1 Roll-type crop guard (Special Equip-
ment)
The roll-type crop guard is an accident
preventing device and must not be
removed during field operation.
When handling bis swaths the roll-type crop guard (1) can
be adjusted to match the crop density.
For this the chains (2) must be attached in a higher
position.
The setting for the chains must be made on
both sides for the same height.
