Winter storage
9 Winter storage
• Thoroughly clean the rotary swather before winter
storage. If a high-pressure cleaner is used, do not
aim the water jet directly at the bearing points.
Grease all lubricating points after cleaning.
• Check all moving parts for ease of movement. If
necessary, remove, clean and remount after
regreasing. Replace with new parts if necessary.
Only use original KRONE spare parts.
• Oil all joints.
• Thoroughly grease machine.
• Grease the universal drive shaft guard tubes in order
to prevent freezing.
• Set down the rotary swather on a dry site. Do not
store near artificial manure.
• Make good damage to paintwork, thoroughly coat
unpainted parts with anti-corrosion agent.
• Put the machine on supports to take the pressure off
the tyres, do not let the air out, protect tyres against
sunlight, grease and oil.
• Make a list of all spare parts required and order in
good time. It is easier for your KRONE to supply and
install spare outside high-season. In addition the
machine is then fully prepared for the coming
summer.
