11.5 Removing the air filter x
Note
Engine failureUnfiltered intake air has a negative effect on the service life of the engine.
Never operate the vehicle without an air filter as dust and dirt will enter the engine and lead to increased wear.

Take off the air filter box lid.

Clean the air filter box.

Oil, grease, filters, fuel, cleaners, brake fluid, etc., should be disposed of as stipulated in applicable regulations.

Do not clean the air filter with fuel or petroleum.
Preparatory work
Remove the air filter. x ( p. 36)

Main work
Tap to remove coarse dirt. Brush off the air filter with a soft brush.
Spray on cleaner and leave it on for 10 minutes.
Air filter cleaner ( p. 95)
Rinse the air filter from the inside to the outside with a gentle spray of water.
Shake off remaining water. Let the air filter dry.
Info
Do not use compressed air to dry the filter.
