13.1 Removing the front wheel x
Preparatory work
Raise the rear of the motorcycle with lifting gear. ( p. 35)
Raise the front of the motorcycle with lifting gear. ( p. 35)

Loosen screws

Loosen wheel spindle

and pull it out.
Warning
Danger of accidentsReduced braking efficiency due to damaged brake
discs.
Always lay down the wheel in such a way that the brake discs are not
damaged.
Take the front wheel out of the fork.
Info
Do not pull the hand brake lever while the front wheel is removed.
13.2 Installing the front wheel x

Warning
Danger of accidentsReduced braking efficiency due to oil or grease on the
brake discs.
Always keep the brake discs free of oil and grease, and clean them with
brake cleaner when necessary.
Clean wheel spindle

Lift the front wheel into the fork, position it, and insert and tighten wheel spin-
dle

Guideline
Screw, wheel spindle, front M16x1.5 50 Nm
(36.9 lbf ft)
Take the motorcycle off of the front lifting gear. ( p. 35)
Operate the hand brake lever repeatedly until the brake linings are in contact with
the brake disc and there is a pressure point.
Pull the front brake and compress the fork powerfully a few times.
The fork legs straighten.
Tighten screws

Guideline
Screw, axle clamp M8 12 Nm
(8.9 lbf ft)
Thread greased
Remove the rear of the motorcycle from the lifting gear. ( p. 35)
