Check the front and rear tires for cuts, run-in objects, and other damage.
» If the tires exhibit cuts, run-in objects, or other damage:
Change the tires.
Check the tread.
» If the tread is worn:
Change the tires.
Check the age of the tires.

The tire's date of manufacture is usually part of the tire markings and is
indicated by the last four digits of the DOT marking. The first two digits refer
to the week of manufacture and last two digits refer to the year of manufac-
ture.
KTM recommends that the tires are changed regardless of the actual wear,
at the latest after five years.
» If a tire is more than five years old:
Change the tires.
13.7 Checking the tire pressure

Low tire pressure leads to abnormal wear and overheating of the tire.

Remove the protection cap.
Check the tire pressure when the tires are cold.
Tire air pressure
Front 1.8 bar (26 psi)
Rear 1.7 bar (25 psi)
» If the tire pressure does not meet specifications:
Correct the tire pressure.
Mount the protection cap.

The rubber seal in the protection cap prevents air from leaking out of the
tire if the valve is faulty.
