Upon
entering
diagnostic
mode,
a
menu
of
available
tests
appears.
See
Figure
4.3.
The
soft
buttons
are
labeled
by
the
bottom
line
of
the
display.
The
options
are
"A
Burn-in
Test",
or
"B
Test
Forever."
NOTE:
The
option
labeled
"Burning
Test"
on
the
bottom
line
of
the
display
refers
to
the
Burn-in
test,
so
called
because
it's
used
at
the
factory
to
perform
a
general
quality
test
of
all
the
major
components
of
the
unit.
These
tests
are
done
multiple
times
to
make
sure
the
unit
will
perform
properly
with
extended
use.

Performing
the
Burn-in
test
on
newly
shipped
units
is
recommended
for
a
general
test.
If
a
specific
problem
has
occurred
with
a
particular
unit,
select
the
appropriate
test(s)
from
the
normal
diagnostics
menu.
If
repairs
or
replacement
of
parts
are
necessary,
to
run
the
Burn-in
test
one
or
more
times
when
you've
finished
the
repairs.

Running
the
Burn-in
Test
NOTE:
Before
running
the
Burn-in
test,
insert
a
formatted
floppy
disk
into
the
K2000's
floppy
disk
drive.
The
test
will
hang
up
without
a
disk
in
the
drive.
