Demo Song
e Demo Song parameter allows you to choose the demo song for the current program.
e demo song is a short, pre‐programmed song that gives you a demonstration of the
program in a musical context. You can play a program’s demo song in Program mode by
simultaneously pressing the 0/MISC and KEYPAD buttons.
Pads Control
e Pads Control parameter determines the overall functionality of the Pads for the current
Program.
Switches
When Pads Control is set to Switches, the Pads function as switch controllers and use the
Pad1-Pad16 assignments set in the Control column of the Program Edit Parameters page.

Arp
When Pads Control is set to “Arp”, the Pads can activate and mute each step of the
Arpeggiator Step Sequencer. (e Arpeggiator must have the Mode parameter set to Step
Sequencer.)
e Pads display the active/muted state of the currently playing Step Sequencer steps, in
groups of 16 steps at a time. Active steps are lit with a blue LED, muted steps are not lit, and
the currently playing step is lit with a red LED. Press a Pad to toggle the step between active
and muted (muted steps are set to velocity “None”). For details on the Arpeggiator, see “The

CC Sequencer
When Pads Control is set to “CC Sequencer”, the Pads can activate and mute each step of
the CC Sequencer. (e CC Sequencer must have at least one Sequence with the Mode
parameter set to User. e Pads can control up to 4 User Mode CC sequences at once. e
Pads can not control non User Mode sequences.)
e Pads display the active/muted state of the currently playing CC Sequencer steps, in
groups of 16 steps at a time. Active steps are lit with a blue LED, muted steps are not lit, and
the currently playing step is lit with a red LED. Press a Pad to toggle the step between active
and muted (muted steps are set to a CC value of “skip”). For details on the CC Sequencer,
see “The CC Sequencer (CC SEQ) Page” on page 3-39.
Notes/Chords
When Pads Control is set to “Notes/Chords”, each Pad can play a designated note, or a
chord of up to 8 notes. e Pads can play notes and chords using the current Program, or a
dierent Pads Program can be selected.
