Editing Notes and Chords for each Pad
When Pads Control is set to “Notes/Chords”, select the Pads Control eld and press the
EDIT button to enter the Pad Notes Editor page. Use the Pad Notes Editor page to select the
notes that will be played by each Pad.
On the Pad Notes Editor page, to select a Pad to edit, select one of the Key 1 - Key 8 elds,
then use the CHANNEL/LAYER/ZONE/TRACK buttons to select a Pad. When one of
the Key 1 - Key 8 elds is selected, the currently selected Pad number is displayed in the top
right corner of the display.
Velocity Mode
e Velocity Mode parameter determines the velocity behavior for all Pads.
If Velocity Mode is set to Per Note, each note in the Key 1 - Key 8 elds will use the velocity
set by each of the 8 per note Velocity parameters.
If Velocity Mode is set to Auto, all notes in the Key1 - Key8 elds will use the velocity of the
played Pad.
If Velocity Mode is set to 1-127, all notes in the Key 1 - Key 8 elds will use the selected
velocity value.
Single Pad
When the Single Pad parameter is set to O, multiple Pads can be played at the same time.
When the Single Pad parameter is set to On, only a single Pad can be played at one time.
is is useful when the Pads are programmed to play chords. Playing a new Pad will silence
the notes of the previous chord, which prevents chords from overlapping. e currently
playing Pad will continue to play until it is pressed again.
Key 1 - Key 8
Use the Key 1 - Key 8 elds to select the notes of a chord to be played.
To select a note, select a Key 1 - Key 8 eld, hold the ENTER button, then play the desired
note on the keyboard. You can also change the note in the eld by using the Alpha Wheel or
PREVIOUS/NEXT buttons.
Soft Buttons in the Pad Notes Editor Page
On the Pad Notes Editor page, pressing each of the SET soft buttons automatically sets
each of the 16 Pads to a group of useful note numbers. Press each SET button to read a
description of the function before continuing.
On the Pad Notes Editor page, press the IMPORT soft button to view the Pad Notes Import
page, which allows you to import Pad Notes settings from other Programs.
