Pads Channel
When Pads Control is set to “Notes/Chords”, the Pads Channel parameter appears. e
Pads Channel parameter determines which MIDI Channel 1-16 will be used for the Pads
Program.
When Pads Channel is set to “Auto”, the selected Pads Program will automatically be played
on a Channel that has the most available FX resources (after the current Program, which
always has priority for FX resources in Program Mode). e Auto setting is the easiest way to
ensure that all of the FX will be loaded for the Pads Program. (If the current Program uses a
lot of FX resources, the FX may not be able to load for the Pads Program.)
When Pads Channel is set to 1-16, the selected Pads Program will be played on the selected
Channel number. is is useful for advanced users, especially when using the Pads to play
external MIDI equipment or software instruments on a computer that depend on a specic
Channel. Depending on the currently selected Channel and Programs selected on other
Channels, the FX of the selected Pads Program may not load if the current Program or
other lower Channel numbers are using a lot of FX resources. If Pads Channel is set to the
current Channel number, the Pads will play the current Program instead of the selected Pads
Program.
Pads Program
When Pads Control is set to “Notes/Chords”, the Pads Program parameter appears. Use the
Pads Program parameter to select a Program which will be played by the Pads.
Note: To play the selected Pads Program, the Global Mode “Load Pads Prog” parameter
must be set to Yes (the default setting). For details see “Load Pads Prog” on page 9-6.
