Drum Performing drum refreshing
Description
Rotates the drum approximately 2 minutes with toner lightly on the overall drum using the
high-voltage output control of the engine PWB. The cleaning blade in the drum unit scrapes
toner off the drum surface to clean it.
Purpose
To clean the drum surface when image failure occurs due to the drum. This mode is effective
when dew condensation on the drum occurs.
Procedure
1. In the Service Setting menu, select [Drum].
2. Press the OK key.
3. Press [Yes] (Left Select key).
Carry out drum refresh.
LSU Performing laser scanner cleaning
Description
The LSU cleaning solenoid drive the cleaning blade which in turn wipes clean the LSU dust
shield glass.
Purpose
To perform cleaning when the printed image is bad and stripes are seen in the vertical direc-
tion.
Procedure
1. In the Service Setting menu, select [LSU].
2. Press the OK key.
3. Press [Yes] (Left Select key).
Carry out the LSU cleaning.
MP Tray Cleaning Performing MP tray cleaning
Description
To perform MP tray cleaning.
Purpose
If dirt appears on images when using the MP tray, perform MP tray cleaning.
Procedure
1. In the Service Setting menu, select [MP tray].
2. Press the OK key.
3. Press [Yes] (Left Select key).
MP tray cleaning starts.
Silent Mode Setting silent mode
Description
Make the machine run more quietly.
Purpose
Select this mode when the running noise is uncomfortable.
Procedure
1. In the Service Setting menu, select [Silent Mode].
2. Press the OK key.
3. Select [On] or [Off].
4. Press the OK key.
