Using Custom Paper > Setting from the Operation Panel
Preventing Ink Splashing and Color Drift
Perform this adjustment if ink splashing or color drift occurs on the output result, or paper jams occur.

Display the screen.
[System Menu/Counter] key > [Device Settings] > [Paper Feeding] > "Cassette Settings"
[Cassette 1 (to 8) Settings] > [Manual] > [Ink Discharge Distance Settings]

Configure the settings.
Select [Normal] or [Wide].
If ink splashing or color drift occurs in the output result, select [Normal].
If paper jams occur when you print on heavy paper or ink jet matte paper, select [Wide].
IMPORTANT
Selecting [Wide] may cause ink splashing and color drift.
If a paper jam occurs under the print head when [Normal] is selected, contact your
service representative.
