Use only steaks, lets, rib steaks..., do not cook meat on the bone
such as chops, rib of beef…
*
Put the meat in the unit.
*
Do not use the tightening clip as this could crush the meat if it
is thick.
*
Monitor the cooking and take out the meat when it is cooked
to your taste.
6. COOKING LIEGE WAFFLES
*
We recommend starting with 2 heating position and a ‘moelleux’
(‘soft’) adjustment.
*
Heat the appliance until the green light comes on.
*
Grease the plates just before pouring the batter.
*
Put two Liège wafe dough pieces on the lower mold.
*
Close the lid and squeeze the handles for a few moments to help
distribute the batter evenly.
*
When the green light comes on again, you may open the iron.
Keep in mind that the timing of the green light was congured
for cooking wafes. Ideal cooking time may vary depending on
the recipe. In this case, you may check before the green light
comes on to see whether cooking is complete by opening the lid;
if your Liege wafes, etc., are ready, then remove them from the
appliance and continue the cooking cycle ignoring the green light.
*
If your Liege wafes appear to be stuck to both plates, do not
open the lid any further; if you hold it in its current position for a
few moments, the Liege wafes should come away from the top
plate under their own weight. If they do not, insert a spatula and
carefully tease the Liege wafes away from the plate.
*
Pick up your Belgian wafes using a sharp knife or a Lagrange
wafe fork to stab the thick part of the wafe and apply slight
pressure to lift it off.
7. COOKING DONUTS/BAGELS
*
We recommend starting with 2 heating position and a ‘moelleux’
(‘soft’) adjustment.
*
Heat the appliance until the green light comes on.
*
Grease the plates just before pouring the batter.
*
On the lower mold, place the donut dough with a spoon or the
rolls of bagel dough in the donut footprints, taking care not to
put in the center to keep the center circle.
*
Close the lid and squeeze the handles for a few moments to help
distribute the batter evenly.
*
For donuts, close the device, wait 3 or 4 seconds, then turn it over
*
For bagels, close the device and do not turn it over.
*
For donuts, turn it over again after around
1
½ minutes, returning it
to its original position.
*
When the green light comes on again, you may open the iron.
Keep in mind that the timing of the green light was congured for
cooking wafes. Ideal cooking time may vary depending on the
recipe. In this case, you may check before the green light comes
on to see whether cooking is complete by opening the lid; if your
donuts or bagels, are ready, then remove them from the appliance
and continue the cooking cycle ignoring the green light.
*
If your donuts or bagels appear to be stuck to both plates, do not
open the lid any further; if you hold it in its current position for a
few moments, the donuts or bagels should come away from the
top plate under their own weight. If they do not, insert a spatula
and carefully tease the donuts or bagels away from the plate.
*
Remove the donuts or bagels by piercing each one with a sharp-
tipped knife and lifting away gently from the cooking plate.
