  If the starting motor of your Land Pride Lawn Mower does not crank, there are several possible causes: * The control levers may not be in the neutral position. Place the control lever in neutral and fully out. * The park brake may not be engaged. Engage the park brake. * The blade engagement switch may be engaged. Disengage the blade switch. * The battery may be weak or dead. Recharge or replace the battery. * There may be loose or broken switches and/or damaged electrical wiring. Repair or replace the switches and electrical wiring. * The control lever interlock switch may not be adjusted correctly. In this case, it is recommended to have your dealer readjust the interlock switch.

Clean the underside of the deck. * Cutting blades not operating at full engine speed. Increase engine RPMs to full speed (3600 RPM). Check engine speed with a Land Pride Inductive Tachometer, Part No. 890-909C. * A loose belt over center take-up. Tension the over center take-up. * A worn or broken belt. Replace the worn and broken belt. * The deck not being level. Check the air pressure in all 4 tires and make level adjustments to the deck.
