Apply Lawn-Boy
"AX"
grease
to
axle
shaft
and install small thick washer to
axle
'shaft
clutch slider side. Install large thin washer onto
axle
shaft against key holder. Assemble
two
bushings onto each end
of
axle shaft with flat
side facing washers and tab of bushings facing
out.

Apply Lawn-Boy
"AX"
grease into fork
support holes of lower transmission case and
insert
two
fork supports into support mounting
holes in lower transmission case.
Install gear selector plate into pocket in lower
transmission case. Apply Lawn-Boy
"AX"
grease into indentation in spring and place
small ball into the indentation. Install spring and
ball in lower transmission case with slot in
spring matching slot in fork support.

Position shift fork over sliding collar. In-
stall shift fork and axle shaft assembly into lower
transmission case. Be sure to insert shift fork
into slot of spring and slot in fork support inside
lower transmission case.
NOTE:
Push bushings on
axle
shaft inward
until they are touching washers on axle shaft
and tab
of
bushings are in retaining
slots
of
transmission case.
Install clutch fork
to
slider. Rotate clutch fork to
install in slot of fork support in lower transmis-
sion case.
