11 MAINTENANCE OF ROUND BALE
WRAPPER
11.1 Safety
Attention, danger of injury!
Any service work on the machine may only be carried out by
persons who are familiar with the operating instructions and
the safety instructions. Maintenance and repair work on the
electrical system and equipment of the machine must be
carried out only by skilled electricians. Maintenance and
repair work on the hydraulic system and equipment of the
machine must be carried out only by personnel with special
knowledge and experience of hydraulic equipment.
Prior to any service work on the machine: switch off power
take-off shaft, switch off tractor engine, remove ignition key
and disconnect drive shaft from power take-off shaft end.
Disconnect control electronics from power supply
(disconnect electrical connection to the tractor).
Nobody must stay between tractor and machine while the
tractor engine is running.
Never operate the machine with defective or removed
protective devices (e.g. guard casings and distance bracket)!
Prior to any welding work: provide for all-polo disconnection
of the machine from the power supply of the tractor.
Prior to any work on the hydraulic and pneumatic systems:
depressurise the systems.
Do not apply grease or oil to points not intended therefor.
Otherwise clean.
When carrying out work on the wrapping ring folded up:
insert wrapping ring safeguard (see chapter "Wrapping Ring
Safeguard", page 28).
When carrying out work in the vicinity of the film knife: cover
film knife with the guard hood included in the delivery
(chapter "Film Knife Cut Protection", page 27).
11.2 Remarks
To ensure that your machine maintains its value as long as
possible and that it works efficiently without the need for
premature repairs, provide for correct adjustment, regular
maintenance and thorough care.
