4.2.4 Charging Station
The machine routes normally starts and ends at the charging station. The machine recharges itself at the
charging station.
The machine can be left permanently connected to the charging station. The VCB and VIOB continuously
monitor the state of the battery and control the charging to keep the battery in optimal condition.
Charger Contact Unit
The charger contact unit (3) (see figure 11 on page 4-10) is always installed to a wall. The shape of the wall
unit helps to keep the charge strips of the machine free of manure and dirt.
The battery charger electrodes (1) are at the front, farthest away from the wall.
Battery Charger
The wall unit (2) contains a 20 A electronic battery charger that has two indicator LEDs on the upper right
side. The LEDs are visible through the opening in the wall unit. The meaning of the LEDs are:
