1 INTRODUCTION
The LOTUS 1020, 1020 SA and 1020 OFFSET are 3-point
linkage tedders with an effective working width of 10,20 m.
A capacity up to approx. 14 ha/h can be achieved thanks to
the massive working width and high forward speed at which
the machine can be operated (up to 15 km/h).
The LOTUS 1020 SA features steered axle wheels to
facilitate manoeuvering in the field or on the farm yard.
The LOTUS 1020 OFFSET model allows an offset position of
the machine behind the tractor.
The LOTUS rotary tedder is fitted with an array of 8 rotors,
each of which has 7 tine arms (fig. 1). The tine arms are
equipped with double springsteel tines. The special tine
shape ensures that the crop is taken up and spread with a
minimum amount of material loss.
The LOTUS tedder follows field undulations easily because
the tedder itself is suspended in a parallelogram construction
and because the rotors can pivot in respect of one another
eliminating the effects that obstacles and field unevenness
might have on the transport wheels.
The machine is adjusted to the transport position quickly and
simply by means of a hydraulic control. Transport in the
tractor ’s hydraulic lift is easy because the machine’s trans-
port width is only 3,0 m.
