1 INTRODUCTION
The LELY LOTUS 1325 is a pull-type tedder that is used for tedding
mown grass and spreading out windrows.
High capacity is attainable thanks to the large working width of
13.25 m and high driving speed (up to 15 km/h) at which the ma-
chine can be operated.
The LOTUS tedder is equipped with 3 groups of 4 rotors (fig. 1). Each
rotor is fitted with tine arms featuring double spring steel tines.
The special tine shape ensures that the crop is picked up and spread
out with a minimum loss of material.
Since the rotors can pivot in relation to one another, the LOTUS ted-
der can follow field undulations with ease.
Ground contours are followed without any problem because the
wheels are positioned closely behind the tines.
Hydraulic controls ensure that the machine can be adjusted to the
transport position quickly and simply. The machine can be transport-
ed behind the tractor with ease since its transport width is only 3.0
m.
2 LINKAGE TO THE TRACTOR
Link the machine to the tractor as follows:
- Fit the drawbar to the machine in such a position that the horizon-
tal distance between the pivot point up until the drive shaft is
more or less the same as the distance from the receiving brackets
of the tractor to the PTO (fig. 2).
- Adjust the tractor’s three-point-hitch arms at an equal height.
- Fit the lower arms to the linkage pins (cat. II) of the drawbar.
- Lift the drawbar slightly so that the parking jack is just clear of the
ground. Maintain this height adjustment of the tractor lift during
operation and transport.
- Place the parking jack in the raised position.
- Secure the tractor’s lower arms with stabilisation chains or rods to
eliminate any sideways movements.
- Place the wheel wedges in the supports fitted on the tilting frame
of the rear tedder.
- Check if the PTO shaft telescopes smoothly.
- Fit the PTO shaft to the tractor PTO.
During first assembly or when using another tractor, check
the minimum and maximum overlap of the PTO shaft halves
*
.
- Fit the safety chain of the protection tube to a rigid part of
the tractor.
- Fold down the support of the PTO shaft.
