The
_DST5-EXT
vent
extension
is
adjustable
from
6"
(152
mm)
to
9.94"
(248
mm).
Use
this
component
when
there
is a
short
distance
to
complete
the
vent
systern
in
lieu
of
cutting
the
uncrimped
end
of
a-vent
section.
Before
positioning
the
appliance,
determine
the
vent
routing.
These
appliances
may
only
be
vented
horizontally
using
the
_DST5-HTK
or
_DV-HTK-1
termination.
Venting
may
only
be
through
the
_DST5
vent
components.
When
venting
directly
out
the
back
of
the
appliance
(standard
venting)
the
total
vent
length
for
the_DVRS5,
measured
from
the
back
surface
of
the
appliance
to
the
point
where
the
exhaust
gases
exit
the
flue,
must
not
exceed
24"
(610
mm).
Venting
may
contain
one
(1)
_DST5-45ELB
(45°
elbow)
if
itis
mounted
directly
against
the
back
of
the
appliance.

Vent
components
can
be
easily
installed
by
simply
fitting
them
together,
inner
flue
compo-
nents
first.
The
_DST5
vent
system
compo-
nents
slide
over
the
collars
on
the
back
of
the
appliance
and
bottom
out
on
the
beads. The
_DST5-45ELBconnector
components
slide
into
the
vent
system
components.
Secure
each
end
ofthe
_DST5
vent
componenis
with
two
(2)

metal
screws
located
180°
apart.
Apply._Mill-Pac
Black
(700°)
high
temperature
sealant
to
all
of
the
joints
of
the
inner
vent
before
fitting
components
together.
Attach
the
_DST5-HTK
or
__DV-HTK-1
connec-
tor
tubes
to
the
vent
components
and
route
the
venting
through
the
wail
prior
to
installing
the
termination.
Note:
The
uncrimped
end
of
the
vent
may
be
trimmed
when
necessary
or
the
adjusiable
ex-
tension,
Model
__DST5-EXT,
may
be
used.
