SetAdministratorPassword
TheSetAdministratorPasswordoptionenablesyoutosetanAdministratorPassword,whichdeters
unauthorizedusersfromchangingcongurationsettings.Ifyouareresponsibleformaintainingthesettings
ofseveralcomputers,youmightwanttosetanAdministratorPassword.Formoreinformationonhowtoset

AfteryouhavesetanAdministratorPassword,apasswordpromptisdisplayedeachtimeyoutryto
accesstheSetupUtilityprogram.YoucannotaccesstheSetupUtilityprogramuntilavalidAdministrator
Passwordistypedin.
IfyouhavesetboththeUserPasswordandtheAdministratorPassword,youcantypeeitherpassword.
However,tochangeanycongurationsettings,youmustuseyourAdministratorPassword.
Setting,changing,anddeletingapassword
Toset,change,ordeleteapassword,dothefollowing:
1.StarttheSetupUtilityprogram.See“StartingtheSetupUtilityprogram”onpage37.
2.FromtheSetupUtilityprogrammainmenu,selectSecurity.
3.Followtheinstructionsdisplayedonthescreentoset,change,ordeleteapassword.
Note:Apasswordcanbeanycombinationofuptosixteenalphabeticandnumericcharacters.For

Enablingordisablingadevice
Thissectionprovidesinstructionsonhowtoenableordisableuseraccesstothedevicesconnectedtothe
SATAconnectorsonthesystemboard.
USBFunctionsUsethisoptiontoenableordisabletheUSBconnectors.
SATAControllerWhenthisoptionissettoDisabled,alldevicesconnectedtotheSATAconnectors
(suchasharddiskdrivesortheopticaldrive)aredisabledandcannotbeaccessed.
Toenableordisableadevice,dothefollowing:
1.StarttheSetupUtilityprogram.See“StartingtheSetupUtilityprogram”onpage37.
2.FromtheSetupUtilityprogrammainmenu,selectDevices.
3.Dependingonthedeviceyouwanttoenableordisable,dooneofthefollowing:
•SelectUSBSetuptoenableordisableaUSBdevice.
•SelectATADrivesSetuptoenableordisableaSATAdevice.
4.SelectthedesiredsettingsandpressEnter.
5.PressEsctoreturntotheSetupUtilityprogrammainmenu.YoumighthavetopressEscseveraltimes.
6.PressF10tosaveandexittheSetupUtilityprogram.See“ExitingfromtheSetupUtilityprogram”
