Ifyourcomputerdoesnotstartupfromadevicesuchastheharddiskdriveorthediscintheopticaldriveas
expected,dooneofthefollowingtoselectthestartupdeviceyouwant.
Selectingatemporarystartupdevice
Usethisproceduretostartupfromanystartupdevice.
Note:Notalldiscs,harddiskdrives,anddiskettesarebootable.
Toselectatemporarystartupdevice,dothefollowing:
1.Turnoffyourcomputer.
2.RepeatedlypressandreleasetheF12keywhenturningonthecomputer.WhentheStartupDevice
Menuopens,releasetheF12key.
3.SelectthedesiredstartupdevicefromtheStartupDeviceMenuandpressEntertobegin.
Note:SelectingastartupdevicefromtheStartupDeviceMenudoesnotpermanentlychangethestartup
sequence.
Selectingorchangingthestartupdevicesequence
Tovieworpermanentlychangetheconguredstartupdevicesequence,dothefollowing:
1.StarttheSetupUtilityprogram.See“StartingtheSetupUtilityprogram”onpage37.
2.SelectStartup®PrimaryBootSequence.Readtheinformationdisplayedontherightsideofthe
screen.
3.Selecttherstbootdevice,secondbootdevice,andsoon.
4.PressEsctoreturntotheStartupmenu.Then,selectthedevicesfortheAutomaticBootSequence
andErrorBootSequence.
5.PressEsctoreturntotheSetupUtilityprogrammainmenu.YoumighthavetopressEscseveraltimes.
6.PressF10tosaveandexittheSetupUtilityprogram.See“ExitingfromtheSetupUtilityprogram”
