Removingtheharddiskdrive
Toremovetheharddiskdrive,dothefollowing:
1.Turnoffthecomputer.
2.Disconnectallcables,powercords,andexternaloptionsfromyourcomputer.See“Rearconnectors”

3.Placeasoft,cleantowelorclothonthedeskorsurface.Holdthesidesofyourcomputerandgentlylay
itdownsothatthescreenisagainstthesurfaceandthecoverisfacingup.
4.Removethecomputercover.See“Removingthecomputercover”onpage70.
5.Locatetheharddiskdrive.See“FRUlocations”onpage66.
6.Removethevescrews,slidetheharddiskdrivealittlebitforward,anddisconnectthecablefromthe
harddiskdrive.Then,removetheharddiskdrivefromthechassis.
7.Removetheretentionclipfromtheharddiskdrivebyremovingthetwoscrewsasshowninthefollowing
illustration.Savetheretentioncliptousewhenyouinstallthereplacementharddiskdrive.
