BeforereplacingaFRU,ensurethatthelatestlevelofBIOSisinstalledonthesystem.Adown-levelBIOS
mightcausefalseerrorsandunnecessaryreplacementofthesystemboard.Formoreinformationonhowto

Notes:Forcomputermodelsthatdonothaveaninternalharddiskdriveandusearemoteharddiskdrive
accessedthroughtheSecureManagedClient-StorageArray(SMC-StorageArray):
•Youmightreceivetheerrormessage“Nooperatingsystemfound.PressF1torepeatbootsequence.”In
thiscase,pressCtrl+Alt+DeleteinsteadofF1toestablishaconnectiontothestorageareanetworkwhere
youroperatingsystemisstored.Verifythattheusernameisnotloggedoninanotherlocation.
•IftheSMCloginpromptdisappearsbeforeyouloginandthenablackscreendisplays,contactyour
administrator.

1.Turnoffthecomputerandallexternaldevices.
2.Checkallcablesandpowercords.
3.Setalldisplaycontrolstothemiddleposition.
4.Turnonallexternaldevices.
5.Turnonthecomputer.
