Symptom:Serialportcannotbeaccessed.
Actions:
•Makesuretheserialcableissecurelyconnectedtotheserialportonthecomputerandtotheserialdevice.
Iftheserialdevicehasitsownpowercord,makesureitisattachedtoaproperlygroundedelectricaloutlet.
•IftheserialdevicehasitsownOn/Offswitch,makesureitisintheOnposition.
•IftheserialdevicehasanOnlineswitch,makesureitisintheOnlineposition.
•Iftheserialdeviceisaprinter,makesurepaperisloadedcorrectly.
•Verifythatanysoftwaresuppliedwiththeserialdeviceiscorrectlyinstalled.Refertothedocumentation
fortheserial-deviceoption.
•Makesurethattheserial-portadapter,ifyouaddedone,isproperlyinstalledandrmlyseated.
