Thissectionprovidesinstructionsonhowtoreplacethekeyboardormouse.
Toreplacethekeyboardormouse,dothefollowing:
1.Removeanymediafromthedrives.Then,turnoffallattacheddevicesandthecomputer.
2.Disconnectallpowercordsfromelectricaloutlets.
3.Disconnecttheoldkeyboardcableormousecablefromthecomputer.
4.ConnectanewkeyboardormousetooneoftheUSBconnectorsonthecomputer.Dependingonwhere
youwanttoconnectthenewkeyboardormouse,see“Locatingconnectors,controls,andindicatorson
thefrontofyourcomputer”onpage8or“Locatingconnectorsontherearofyourcomputer”onpage9.

Completingthepartsreplacement
Aftercompletingtheinstallationorreplacementforallparts,youneedtoclosethecomputercoverand
reconnectcables.Dependingonthepartsyouinstalledorreplaced,youmightneedtoconrmtheupdated
informationintheSetupUtilityprogram.RefertoChapter7“UsingtheSetupUtilityprogram”onpage97.
Toclosethecomputercoverandreconnectcablestoyourcomputer,dothefollowing:
1.Ensurethatallcomponentshavebeenreassembledcorrectlyandthatnotoolsorloosescrewsareleft
insideyourcomputer.See“Locatingcomponents”onpage11
forthelocationsofvariouscomponents
inyourcomputer.
2.Ifyouhaveremovedthefrontbezel,reinstallit.Toreinstallthefrontbezel,alignthethreetabson
thefrontbezelwiththecorrespondingholesinthechassisandpivotthefrontbezelinwardsuntil
itsnapsintoposition.
3.Ensurethatthecablesareroutedcorrectly.Keepcablesclearofthehingesandsidesofthecomputer
chassistoavoidinterferencewithclosingthecomputercover.
4.Lowertheopticaldrivebay.
5.Closethecomputercover.
6.Ifthereisanintegratedcablelockavailable,lockthecomputer.
7.Reconnecttheexternalcablesandpowercordstothecomputer.See“Locatingconnectorsontherear
